Dear friends of Casa18,

how are you in this extraordinary time? We hope you and your loved ones are healthy.
After a few weeks of isolation and lockdown here in Spain, we feel the need to share our thoughts and desires with you.

Most people who read these lines know our CASA18 and have spent wonderful days and weeks there. I checked myself in there for the last 3 days to feel the house myself again.

What can I say, everything looks the same as always. But everything is different. I stand on the terrace and look over the same green orange fields, smell the blossoms that are just being pollinated by the carefree bees. Look at the nearby mountains and forests, which now belong completely to the animals. I even saw a fox roaming the streets a few days ago and dolphins are swimming in the harbor in Moraira.

I look at the sea, I see no sailing ships, no yachts, no ferries ... nothing.
I look up at the blue sky and it is empty and silent.

And I think that's how many of you are doing right now. On the one hand, we are experiencing a global catastrophe that costs innumerable suffering and lives, and on the other hand, these moments of absolute calm and originality.

Since our region is still very spared at the moment, we all hope that the situation will calm down somewhat in the coming weeks. But of course nobody knows how long it will really take before we can welcome you as our guests again.

We used the time, renovated a little here and there and so our Casa18 is as bright and fragrant as on the first day ready for your visit.

What do we take with us from this unprecedented situation?

Life is short and can change very quickly. You don't always have to be the fastest and best. But you should do what you do with full devotion and joy. Otherwise everything is nothing.

And so every guest is unique and important to us. He should feel what it feels like to feel at home even on vacation. The little details make the difference.

Please stay healthy, open to change and see you soon at Casa18.

Best regards from Benidoleig,

Jan and the Casa18 team
